Lord Hanuman, in India, is portrayed as someone having a tail and a deformed chin, resembling closely to the features of a monkey.
This is objectionable.
In Sanskrit, monkey = मर्कट।
In No document, has Shri Hanuman been referred to as मर्कट। Rather, the word वानर has been used for thee.
Literally, वानर = one who lives in the वन।
वन = forest (जंगल)
Factually, humans do live in the jungles, and were living in jungles (as mentioned about the kingdom of Sugreev in Ramayana).
Living beings having tails are not designed to stand on two limbs and hence cannot speak human languages.
Thus, it is Wrong to portray the Raam-bhakt Hanuman as someone having a tail.
He should be picturized as a real human being.
